Bangladeshi medical health officials visit EAC

An 11-man delegation from Bangladesh, led by its highest ranking officer Mr. Mohammed Golam Quddus, visited Emilio Aguinaldo College last May 15, 2008.

They were welcomed by EAC President Jose Paulo E. Campos and he was joined by the representative deans, directors and heads of the units / departments of the college.

The visit to EAC was organized by the School of Nursing and Midwifery (SNM), in coordination with the Development Center for Asia Africa Pacific (DCAAP).

During the 2-hour interactive session, consultant on community immersion program Prof. Elisea dela Cruz, told the Bangladeshi visitors of its mechanics. In the meantime, Mr. Jerro Sia read through the screen the reflections of nursing interns who were on community service. In addition to the two presentations, Ms. Marilyn Rances gave a talk about the simulated hospital and skills laboratory.

SNM Dean Norma M. Dumadag facilitated the open forum. Meanwhile, Ms. Delia C. Ramos, chief nurse of Medical Center Manila, one of the two hospitals of EAC, led the tour and ocular visit to MCM.

Mr. Quddus, the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MHFW), was with other officials from the said office.

Still others who came with him were from the Directorate of Nursing Services, the College of Nursing, Mohakhali, and from Sir Salimullah Medical College, Dhaka.

Visitors from Bangladesh are Ms. Selima Akhter Banu, Mr. Mohammad Abdus Salam Khan and Mr. Md. Firoz Uddin, deputy secretary, and senior assistant chiefs, respectively from MHFW.

Ms. Sufia Begum and Ms. Farida Khatun are assistant directors from the directorate of the nursing services of Dhaka.

Among the delegation were two lecturers from the college of nursing, Mohakhali, Dhaka, Ms. Salina Chowdhury and Ms. Taslima Begum.

The other members of the group are Ms. Fatema Jahura, Mohammed Awal Hossain and Ms. Kamrun Nahar, deputy nursing superintendent, coordinator and senior staff nurse, respectively.
