The class of 2008, Esteemed Parents, Beloved Alumni, Friends:

It was four short years ago when I stood before you, to welcome you to college life and to Emilio Aguinaldo College. For most of you, those four years have been years of accelerated personal development. You were challenged not just by the programs of study you undertook but by issues which compelled you to stake out your beliefs and take a stand. Life outside the cocoon of comfort provided by your parents compelled you to define your identity and your individuality. These four years have transformed all of you from carefree adolescents to purposeful and responsible adults. Today I bid you God¬speed and urge you to dedicate yourselves to continue working for your aspirations and for that brighter future of your dreams. Although the period of your formal education may have ended, your education certainly has not. Education is at the core of life. Life is a journey of discovery and education. Be open to the lessons of the world around you. Every person you encounter is potentially a teacher. Every situation is potentially a subject. Accord each and every person and each situ¬ation with your full attention, and you will discover new dimensions in seemingly routine situations. From new meanings discovered in life’s lessons, you will discover aspects of yourself that will pleasantly surprise you. Do not be afraid to take prudent risks. Take the less traveled road. There are no lectures, recitations, quizzes, homework, long tests and departmental exams in the classroom of life. In the end, the verdict on your life will be between you and your creator.

In behalf of the faculty, staff and administrators of this school, permit me to thank your parents for the trust they have reposed in all of us at the Emilio Aguinaldo College. They have sacrificed much to pro¬vide you with opportunities they themselves may not have had. Always accord them the honor they deserve.
