- Establish quality education to prepare students for leadership in meeting the challenges of national development.
In pursuit of these goals, the College of Science has envisioned the following endeavors:
A. Review and revision of the existing B.S. Biology curriculum (S.Y. 2005-2006)
The curriculum will be enhanced in order to develop major fields of study for the students. The major fields include:
- Molecular Biology and Biotechnology
- Cell Biology
- Zoology
- Botany
B. Updating of syllabi of Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Computer, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics courses to incorporate recent advances in these sciences (S.Y. 2004-2006)
C. Establishment of New Curricula S.Y. 2007-2009)
The College proposes the establishment of new curricula such as:
- B.S. Chemistry
- B.S. Mathematics
- B.S. Physics
- B.S. Statistics
D. Establishment of Scholarships for deserving students (S.Y. 2006)
E. Expansion of the Natural Science Museum (S.Y. 2005)
The newly opened Natural Science Museum will be expanded in order to serve the students better. Exhibits will be increased to include materials for the sciences of Chemistry, Computer, Mathematics and Physics. Additional exhibits on Zoology, Botany and Health Sciences will also be acquired.

Research Development
The primary direction of the College with regards to research is the establishment of a Natural Science Research Center. Prior to the realization of this ambitious plan however is the enhancement of the capability of the existing faculty to do basic and applied research. To this end, the following activities are planned:
- Formulation of research programs aimed at acquiring funds and facilities for Natural Science researchers. (S.Y. 2005-2006)
- Setting up of modest research laboratories or field sites. (S.Y. 2006-2008)
- Training of faculty members on research methodology. (S.Y. 2005-2009)
- Implementation of short and medium term applied researches on Biology and Chemistry. (S.Y. 2004-2009)
- Bi-annual science journal. (S.Y. 2005-2009) - Purpose:
- Research as an integral component of a teacher's function
- One way of encouraging teachers to be conscious about research; Awakening research consciousness of EAC community - 4 areas:
- Articles: researches by faculty and students (best theses)
- Abstracts: researches by faculty and students (best theses)
- Reviews: critiques of researches from journals, seminars and conferences
- Science Updates: new trends and developments
Departamental Leadership
The College shall strive for popularization in the basic scientific knowledge. The College therefore shall establish:
- Semi-annual science fairs. (S.Y. 2004-2009)
- Invitational lecture series on specific science topics and current issues. (S.Y. 2005-2009)
- Bi-monthly science popular bulletins. (S.Y. 2005-2009)
Community Extension
The relevance and application of the basic scientific principles in classrooms are maximized through community service. In view of these, the College shall:
- Conduct a quarterly informal education program for out-of-school youth, particularly for elementary and secondary students in the areas of mathematics and sciences (S.Y. 2004-2009).
- Develop a close collaboration with the nearby Barangays pertaining to health and environmental consciousness (S.Y. 2004-2009).
- Conduct a semi-annual survey to adopted and selected Barangays on health and environmental issues (S.Y. 2004-2009).
Training » Development
Manpower development is an inherent responsibility of an academic institution. It is conducted to enhance the faculty member's expertise in their chosen field of specialization. These programs include:
- In-house lecture seminar on:
- Teaching methods and technologies (S.Y. 2004-2009)
- Experimental research methodologies (S.Y. 2005-2009)
- Specific topics in pure and applied sciences (S.Y. 2005-2009)
- Participation in research consortia (S.Y. 2005-2009)
- Attendance to short courses on natural sciences thesis/dissertation (S.Y. 2004-2009)
- Scholarship for faculty members of good standing (S.Y. 2004-2009)
