Villafania Launches First Pangasinan Poetry Book

Pangasinan Writer of the Year awardee (2004) Santiago B. Villafania's first poetry collection, Pinabli tan arum ni'ran anlong (Beloved and Other Poems) is finally out. It is the first book by a Pangasinense poet after half a century of silence in the language's literary landscape. Here we shall experience Pangasinan folkore retold by combining traditional, contemporary and even experimental poetic forms. It also gives insights on the author's life as well.

Villafania also writes in English and Tagalog. His works have been printed in various publications such as: In our Own Words (Vol. 1 and 2), Circle Magazine, Ygdrasil, Crimson Feet, Philippine Panorama, Sunday Times Magazine, Balon Silew, AWARD, The Heron's Nest, A Critical Survey of Philippine Literature and the NCCA's forthcoming Ubod series.
