Founder’s Day Celebration

Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at the Tanghalang Yaman Lahi, the Yaman Lahi Group of Companies, led by Emilio Aguinaldo College Culture and Arts Committee, celebrated Founder’s Day, Dr. Paulo C. Campos’ birthday, with the theme, “Remembering the Life and Legacy of Dr. Paulo C. Campos.” The yearly celebration is the college way of giving honor and tribute to the Founder, while keeping alive the memory of his life and achievements in the hearts of the corporation, especially to the students who are the founder’s greatest legacy and contribution towards Philippine nation building.

The celebration began with the display of the painting of EAC’s founder at the entrance of EAC Building 7, which was followed by a Eucharistic Celebration by Fr. Joseph Souw Hong Goan, OSC, attended by EAC students, administration and employees of Emilio Aguinaldo College, Pearl Manila Hotel and Medical Center Manila. In attendance were the two sons of Dr. Campos, Atty. Paulo E. Campos, Jr., Board of Trustees Treasurer & Corporate Secretary and Dr. Enrique E. Campos, M. D., Trustee.

After the mass, a cultural show ensued that was opened by Dr. Valentino G. Baac, OPMS Director, where he conveyed the message of Dr. Jose Paulo E. Campos, EAC President, when he stated, “Our president Dr. Campos is doing his best to guide this academic institution to success and greater achievement.” Added was Dr. Baac’s announcement that Emilio Aguinaldo College is now a WiFi campus.

The cultural show, under the stewardship of Dean Nelida V. Lares as Head of the Culture and Arts Committee, was mounted by the performing arts groups of the college, namely, the EAC Chorale, Yaman Lahi Dance Artists, Yaman Lahi Theater Guild, and the special participation of the EAC Faculty and Employees. The numbers presented showcased slices of the Founder’s life, giving emphasis on his life as a UP medical student and his achievements thereafter as a medical doctor, research scientist, educator, businessman and civic leader. Knowing him gives inspiration and model to the youth and students of EAC for them to emulate the life of the Founder.
