The Research and Development Office now the Center for Research and Development (CRD) was created by the Board of Trustees in its regular meeting held on August 22, 1994 with Cecilia P. Reyes, Ph.D. as its founding Director. The CRD aims to utilize its human resource in formulating and conducting research programs/projects within the priority areas of the foundation and of the national government.

Yaman Lahi Foundation, Inc is a private science and research foundation first accredited by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) on July 26, 1995 (Secretary William G. Padolina) and renewed for another five (5) years on June 2001 (Secretary Estrella F. Alabastro). The Foundation has several objectives.

Among these are to organize, staff, and finance research projects which may be established in furtherance of the purposes and objectives of the Foundation; promote, support and, and finance publication of the reports prepared under the auspices of the Foundation; and to provide financial support for the studies of selected students and for the attendance at scientific conferences by qualified and competent scholars (YLFI Articles of Incorporation, 1980).

Duties and Responsibilities of Research Director

A. Research Director

• Responsible for all matters pertaining to research.
• Plans, supervisees, coordinates and implements research programs and activities.
• Supervises and monitor all the research projects in the whole College
• Disseminates research findings through publications.
• Promotes research activates and programs
• Prepare and submit annual research budget and report to the top management.
• Establishes linkages with governmental and nongovernmental agencies for research
• Review progress reports of researchers
• Represents YLF in outside meetings called by DOST, CHED and etc.

Duties and Responsibilities of Institutional Review Board (IRB)

• Reviews and recommends for approval of the board of trustees research proposals/protocols endorsed by the Technical Review Board (TRB) and Ethical Review Board (ERB)
• Examines progress reports submitted to the Center for Research and Development (CRD)
• Recommends to the Board of trustees termination or continuation of financing of the projects
• Reviews and recommends funding of projects, thesis or dissertation of faculty and staff
• Recommends Institutional Fees for studies initiated by Pharmaceutical Companies and other agencies

Duties and Responsibilities of Technical Review Board (TRB)

• Reviews research proposals/protocols endorsed by Department Chair
• Endorses research proposals/protocols to Institutional Review Board (IRB)

Duties and Responsibilities of Ethical Review Board (ERB)

• Reviews research proposals/protocols endorsed by the Department Chair
• Endorses research proposals/protocols to Institutional Review Board (IRB)

Duties and Responsibilities of the Research & Publication Manager

• Responsible for the editing, design and layout of the journals and manuals/modules (camera ready) which are research outputs.
• Coordinates with the writers and researchers regarding manuscript and proposals
• Assist the Director in implementing research programs of the College
• Coordinates with the supplier or printer of the College in matters of printing of journals and manuals / textbooks.
• Assists in the distribution of journals and manuals/ textbooks developed by the Research Center.
