Despite the upsurge of prices of oil, rice, and primary commodities and the economic woes every family is facing, it is noted that the enrollment of EAC-Cavite has increased to 1999 this first semester according to Mrs. Josephine S. Jubinal, the college registrar.
The Nursing and Midwifery registered the biggest enrollees with 1,261; BA and HRM, 312; Arts and Sciences, 141; Engineering, 126; Education, 48; Computer Science, 34; and Vocational Technology, 77.
Increases were recorded in HRM with 41, Psychology, Criminology, Accountancy, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mass Communication, Civil Engineering and Elementary Education.
New Vocational Technology programs such as Auto Servicing, Consumer Electronics Servicing, PC Operation, Machining, and Computer Programming were opened this semester. Auto Servicing registered the highest enrolment with 15 enrollees. Many students are still enrolled in the old programs such as Automotive Technology, Computer Technology, Electrical Technology, Machine Practice Technology, Electronics and Communication Technology, and Graphic Arts and Printing Technology because there are many job opportunities for Filipino technicians abroad.
The Voc-Tech courses and hands-on learning are handled by competent and TESDA National Certified (NC) instructors Alejandro T. Dagohoy, Bernardo B. Maglian, Lera M. Guanzon, Glen O. Esguerra, Alnar N. Pasayon, Xerxes L. Zabala and Randolph A. Santos. Miss Guanzon is a B.S. in Architecture graduate and Mr. Zabala is a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering graduate. The Officer-in-Charge of the department is Mr. Alejandro Dagohoy, a graduate of B.S. in Industrial Education and M.A.T. in Mechanical Technology. (by Mary Rose M. dela Cruz and Estella Marie B. Albiola)
